1. Rent-A-Center Make A Difference Scholarship Program

🏆 Award: $2,500

📅 Deadline: February 1st, 2024

Eligibility: Applicants must be either (1) Customers in good standing of Rent-A-Center. (2) Spouses or children of the above customers who are living in the customer’s household. (3) Dependent children 25 or younger of current Rent-A-Center employees. Or (4) Dependent children 25 or younger of current Rent-A-Center franchise owners. Applicants must live in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study, be studying to obtain their first bachelor’s degree, and must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.

2. Northwestern Mutual Childhood Cancer Survivor Scholarship Program

🏆 Award: $5,000

📅 Deadline: February 1st, 2024

Eligibility: Applicants must be pediatric cancer survivors, age 25 or under, who have been diagnosed and have had treatment for and survived cancer, or in current treatment. Open to high school seniors, high school graduates, or current undergraduate students. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.

Submit: Current, complete transcript, and a medical verification form signed by a physician.

3. Northwestern Mutual Childhood Cancer Sibling Scholarship Program

🏆 Award: $5,000

📅 Deadline: February 1st, 2024

Eligibility: Applicants must be siblings of an individual who is in current treatment, has survived, or passed away from childhood cancer. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident, age 25 or younger, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Open to high school seniors and graduates, as well as current post secondary undergraduate students.

Submit: Current, complete transcript of grades and an affidavit, signed by the applicants parents or legal guardian, confirming the applicant’s status as a sibling of someone who is currently in treatment, has survived, or who has passed away from childhood cancer.

4. The Abdul Waheed Scholarship in Biochemistry

🏆 Award: The scholarship includes an increased yearly stipend of $35,000 in addition to tuition and health insurance, and covers 3 years for Ph.D. Core students and 1 year for M.D./Ph.D. students. The awardee may start between June 1 and the first day of classes in August.

📅 Deadline: February 1st, 2024

Eligibility: Candidates must apply and be accepted by Saint Louis University as a classified (degree-seeking) student in the Biomedical Sciences Core Graduate Program as a new Ph.D. student. Candidates will indicate interest in the Abdul Waheed Scholarship at the time of application. M.D./Ph.D. students may apply to the scholarship at the beginning of the Ph.D. years, provided they have chosen a faculty mentor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Submit: To apply for the Saint Louis University Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences, potential scholars should complete applications to both the Graduate School and the specific program. The Graduate School application can be submitted through Saint Louis University Graduate Education, while the Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences application details are available in the Graduate Program Supplemental Application info. Additionally, applicants must send a personal statement and a three-to-five-page review of a recent research publication directly to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology via email to LaChina McCoy. The personal statement should highlight motivations for pursuing graduate training in Biomedical Sciences and long-term career goals, while the research publication review should include a critical evaluation of the work's key elements and propose potential extensions or directions for future research.

Eligibility: Any high school or undergraduate student who has at least a 3.0 GPA and plans to pursue a career in zoology or veterinary sciences may apply for this scholarship.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay about your passion for animals, and how you plan to impact the animal world.

🏆 Award: $8,000 – $25,000

📅 Deadline: February 1st

Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or GED, and be at least 18 years old at the time of the application deadline. In addition, applicants must be matriculated for the duration of their Boren Awards-funded program in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program located within the United States and accredited by a body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Must be planning to study at an overseas program in a country outside of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.

12. Society Of Women Engineers (SWE) Upperclassmen Scholarsh

🏆 Award: $1,000 – $10,000

📅 Deadline: February 1st – 5pm CST

Eligibility: SWE’s Scholarship Program is open to both SWE members and non-members; however, some of the scholarships do require SWE membership. Open to sophomore, junior, senior and graduate students. Must identify as a woman and planning on attending full time. Undergraduate/community college applicants must be planning to study an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year. Masters and PhD candidates must be enrolled or accepted at a school with ABET-accredited programs in engineering, computing, or technology. Multiple scholarships available, some may have further eligibility requirements.

Eligibility: Applicants must be entering their freshman year of college in the fall of 2023 as a full-time student and plan to pursue a degree in the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences. Marine biology does not meet this requirement. Must also have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or hold permanent resident status.

Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled as a high school or college student; have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; and be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada.

Submit: An essay describing the goal of an innovative project (this could be a website, series of blogs, an app, fundraising event, etc.) you’ve designed that makes a difference in the lives of others. There is no minimum or maximum word/page count.
